The market is clear.Who is in it is not.

You know which direction you are searching in: a technology, an application, a type of party. We map that market and find the acquisition targets and strategic partners working on it, including the ones you would not come across the usual way.

A market map, layer by layer.

  1. The field

You see which companies work in your direction, with a product or a pilot, and how they relate to each other.

  2. Who resembles it

Point at one company that does what you are looking for, or one acquisition that worked out. We find the companies that resemble it, including in sectors you had not looked at yourself.

  3. On the edge

Companies that call their technology something else or sit in another sector. A search does not find them. On your map they appear, with the reason next to them.

You read more in a patent application than in a press release.

On its site a company tells you what it wants to be. In its vacancies, patent applications, investments and LinkedIn posts you read what it does. We read those alongside news and market analyses.

We also look at who works there: where the people come from and what they have done before. A team, and the tasks a job posting asks for, often show which way a company is heading sooner than its marketing does.

Per brief we add the sources your question needs.

Verhoef Tankbouw

Tank builder for the food industry, family business

Example
  • Website

Tanks for dairy, juice and beer.

  • Vacancies

Three materials scientists wanted, with high-pressure experience.

  • Patent applications

A tank for storing gas under high pressure.

  • Employees

Two engineers who moved over from a fuel cell maker.

  • Company register

Second-generation family business, around 120 employees.

On the map

  • Works on hydrogen storage

No product yet. But a patent application, and it is hiring a team for it.

  • Manufacturing in Europe

    Own plant in North Brabant.

  • Between 50 and 250 employees

Around 120, according to the company register.

Noticed. Mentions hydrogen nowhere on its site and appears in no market analysis. That is why we list it separately.

No map is complete. With ours, you can see where it ends.

You get the criteria we searched on and the reason every party is on the map. So you can judge for yourself where its limits are, and where we should look wider.

A good map takes shape in conversation.

You respond to the first version, we search further. What you reject tells us as much as what you choose. And you call one fixed contact.

  • “What are you least sure about?”

  • “This one builds tanks for the food industry, but files patents on high pressure. Does that tell you anything?”

  • “You said no to four engineering firms. Do we only look for companies with their own product?”

What M&A teams ask us

What does it cost?

You pay per brief and sign no annual contract. The price depends on the breadth of the field; we agree on it before we start.

What do I need to provide?

A direction is enough: a technology, an application or a type of party. If you know one company that does what you are looking for, name it. We search on from there.

Which market do you want to see first?

Pick one technology or one sector and tell us what you are looking at. Then we sit down with it.
