Akela Hub is a sourcing centre. You give us an assignment in plain language, we find and score the people or organisations that fit, and you get a list you would put your name to.
The name
One name, three meanings.
The guide
Akela is the wolf from The Jungle Book who guides Mowgli through the jungle. He knows the way; Mowgli walks it himself.
Solitary
The name comes from the Hindi word for 'solitary'. Akela chooses his own path and leaves the beaten track alone.
The head leader
Akela is also the head leader in scouting. She teaches young scouts to make or find the tools that get them to their goal themselves.
Where it comes from
It starts with one player.
A scout at a professional club first points out the player he is after. Then he looks beyond his own pitch, for whoever resembles him. We brought that habit to people and organisations.
